POWERGRIP KITS PLUS WATER PUMP

The water pump is a vital part of the vehicle’s cooling system. It delivers a continuous flow of coolant through the radiator and through the engine.

Many water pumps are driven by the timing belt. If the water pump fails, coolant will leak and contaminate the belt. Long-term coolant contamination will eventually lead to premature timing belt failure.

Gates recommends replacing the timing belt driven water pump while servicing the timing belt and other drive components. By not replacing the water pump is to assume that the pump will last for another full belt duty cycle.

Replacing the water pump is critical for a complete overhaul and is time efficient.
